Casey Key

Secluded Gulf-front estates on a narrow, private island.

Luxury homes from $5M+

Living in Casey Key

Casey Key is a narrow barrier island off Osprey and Nokomis, south of Siesta Key. It has no commercial strip, just a winding, tree-lined road with Gulf-front and bayfront estates on either side. It is one of the most private places to live on the Gulf Coast.

The historic Blackburn Point swing bridge is the north entrance, and Nokomis Beach and the North Jetty mark the south end. Homes are typically custom estates on large lots, many with both Gulf frontage and a dock on the bay.

What people love

  • Gulf-to-bay estates with privacy and lush landscaping
  • Historic Blackburn Point swing bridge
  • Nokomis Beach and the North Jetty for fishing and sunsets
  • Quick access to Osprey, Venice and Sarasota
  • Very low traffic and no high-rises

Before you buy in Casey Key

I’m a licensed Florida broker, a licensed builder and a licensed insurance agent, so I look at every home the way a builder and an underwriter would before you write an offer. In Casey Key, these are the things I check first.

My checklist here

  • Beach erosion history and any coastal construction line limits on the lot.
  • Elevation, flood zone and the age of seawalls and docks.
  • Narrow road access during storms.
  • Insurance quotes before you write an offer.
