Living in Sarasota bayfront
Downtown Sarasota sits right on Sarasota Bay, with high-rise condominiums, walkable streets and the new 53-acre The Bay park along the water. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and Main Street restaurants are all close.
Luxury buyers look at bayfront condominiums with marina views, homes on Golden Gate Point and Bird Key, and estate homes on the bay south of downtown. The barrier island beaches are about ten minutes away across the causeway.
What people love
- The Bay park on Sarasota Bay

Before you buy in Sarasota bayfront
I’m a licensed Florida broker, a licensed builder and a licensed insurance agent, so I look at every home the way a builder and an underwriter would before you write an offer. In Sarasota bayfront, these are the things I check first.
My checklist here
- Condo milestone inspections, reserves and recent special assessments.
- Flood zone and parking garage elevation in bayfront buildings.
- HOA rules on rentals and pets.
- View corridors that could change with new construction.
